Melissa Davis » Welcome!

Welcome to 4th grade! My name is Melissa Davis, and this is my first year teaching 4th grade. Prior to teaching 4th grade, I spent 3 years teaching math and science to 5th graders and 17 years teaching 3rd graders. Iā€™m looking forward to getting to know your child. There are lots of familiar names on the class lists, and I know we will have a great year together.

A little background about me: I graduated with my B. S. and M. Ed. from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, but I grew up in Alabama. My husband, Scott, and I moved to Coloma in 1999 when he  began working at Cook Nuclear Plant. We have two boys- Matthew, a junior studying math and computer science at Adrian College, and Riley, an 11th grader at Coloma High School and Berrien County Math and Science Center.

For my homeroom, I will teach Reading, Math, and Writing. My homeroom will see Mrs. Cripe for Social Studies and Mrs. Streu for Science. The series Coloma Intermediate School utilizes for math is McGraw Hill My Math. In reading, we use McGraw Hill Wonders.
